What the critics say
Mischa Spel, Nrc.nl, 22 March 1999 [extract]
Translated by Martin Cuiper
…Soprano Mireille Delunsch was convincing in the sustaining part of Iphigénie and had the required vocal strength to bring life to her dilemmas. Her trio with the powerful tenor Yann Beuron (Pylade) and baritone Simon Keenlyside, as a modest but vocally cared for Oreste, was the poignant highlight of the 3rd act – intensified by the black/white contast which is both Minkowski’s strength and weakness.
