Simon Keenlyside, despite/thanks to broken wrist, in Trisha Brown’s Winterreise
It has been known for some time that Winterrreise would be included in the 2003 Holland Festival. However the hectic agenda of the popular Simon Keenlyside meant it was not certain whether he would be able to perform the role of the baritone. Keenlyside had decided to rest in June. However he broke his wrist in early February and this was a blessing in disguise for the Holland Festival: Keenlyside will have to take a rest now and expects to have recovered sufficiently by June to steal the show.
