OPERA NEWS announced that Simon is one of the Awards Honorees 2012:
Features Editor Brian Kellow applauds Mr. Keenlyside:
“Simon Keenlyside seems incapable of making a false move onstage. Not only does he have one of the most expressive baritone voices I’ve ever heard, he always seems to be completely in the moment dramatically. His work is never flashy, but it has an inner fire that few performers can match.”
Thanks Kew for telling us!

Bravo Simon! I am delighted that you have been recognised by OPERA NEWS. You fully deserve this accolade. It’s a bit like getting an extra birthday present too.
Many congratulations to you!

Congratulations Simon on yet another well-deserved award!!
Diana.
Congratulations on your OPERA NEWS award & well deserved! I’m going to enter the competition and ‘fingers crossed’ I might actually see you receive your award!
Ann
Of course this is best deserved
honour. hope more are to come
soon.
Congratulations!! This is so well-deserved. I totally agree with Brian Kellow.
Oh dear, Ann, I fear that unless you emigrate NOW to the States you will not be able to enter the OPERA NEWS competition. I have just checked the rules and it is for US citizens only…… What a shame!
And I thought August would be quiet!
Terrific recognition from Opera News and perceptive tribute from Brian Kellow – couldn’t agree more.
Congratulations!
@ Jane
Oh well, if I win the €millions tomorrow, I’ll treat all at SKInfo to the trip & you even have to enter a competition!
Fingers crossed
Hello Ann,
Just read your lovely message. That would be incredibly generous of you and wouldn’t we all have a ball! Mmm…..daydreaming as usual! Great thought though…. actually it’s a pity we can’t all get together and do something like that.
@ Jane and everyone
Didn’t win anything so sadly no SKInfo trip to New York!!
I would be very interested in a SKInfo ‘get together’ though.
Hello Ann and everyone,
I remember years ago that the lady who ran the Thomas Allen Appreciation Society used to organise an annual get-together for all the members around New Year, and I believe occasionally Tom himself would turn up! Unfortunately, having 2 young children and a useless husband I was never able to get to any of the gatherings since they were in London and I live in Birmingham! It would be nice if we could somehow arrange something like that for the Keenlysiders, and perhaps invite Simon along too!
Diana.
