by Gwyn on 18 April 2017

STOP PRESS

We are sorry to advise that Simon has had to withdraw from the opening concert of the Leeds Lieder Festival this Friday, 21 April. The statement from Leeds Lieder reads as follows:

“Leeds Lieder are extremely sorry to announce that Simon Keenlyside has been forced to withdraw from the opening concert of the Leeds Lieder Festival because of bronchitis.

We are grateful to the Dutch baritone Henk Neven for stepping in at such short notice. He will perform Schubert’s Die schöne Müllerin, alongside Joseph Middleton. All purchased tickets remain valid.”

We wish Simon a very speedy recovery!

This is such sad news for so many people. I do hope Simon will find time in his schedule to sing at Leeds Leider in future.
I wish him a very speedy recovery.
