Simon Keenlyside and Emanuel Ax will perform Winterreise at St James’s Church in Chipping Campden on 20 October 2014. This will be a unique chance to hear Simon sing in this wonderful setting and demand for  tickets is expected to be very high. Application for tickets is by post only – the booking form is attached to the performance page.

And the Met Tempest DVD has won the (German) Echo Klassik award for the best Music DVD Production -thanks Sue.

And more information about the The Royal Opera to tour to Japan in September 2015 with Simon singing Macbeth in Tokyo.

First details of Simon’s new CD published by Presto Classical yesterday:

“Though he’s been very busy in terms of complete opera and oratorio recordings over the past few years, it’s been a while since we had the pleasure of a solo disc from the charismatic British baritone Simon Keenlyside, and his next project takes him in an slightly unexpected direction: songs from the shows! Due out on Chandos Records in November, Something’s Gotta Give will include numbers from Carousel, Oklahoma, My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver!, and songs by Cole Porter and Jerome Kern.

Keenlyside will be accompanied by David Charles Abell and the BBC Concert Orchestra; his natural communicative style, gift for characterisation and ability to do humour as well as pathos are sure to pay dividends in this repertoire and we can’t wait to hear the finished article!”

nor can we!!!
