Sabine, thank you very much for providing the link to the On-line Merker interview. It is always interesting to hear Mr Keenlyside’s thoughts on his roles. However, I do think he is being modest when he says the role of Rodrigo doesn’t leave ’much room for different interpretations’. I noticed several subtle changes in his acting which I hadn’t seen before and which added further layers to his character and the relationship with Carlo.
It is ever a pleasure and fascination to hear and see Mr Keenlyside perform.

Thank you for posting the photos and for the link. Simon Keenlyside was a great Rodrigo last Saturday! I’m so glad I was there in Bratislava!
