We are sorry to advise that Simon has had to withdraw from the opening concert of the Leeds Lieder Festival this Friday, 21 April. The statement from Leeds Lieder reads as follows:

“Leeds Lieder are extremely sorry to announce that Simon Keenlyside has been forced to withdraw from the opening concert of the Leeds Lieder Festival because of bronchitis.

We are grateful to the Dutch baritone Henk Neven for stepping in at such short notice. He will perform Schubert’s Die schöne Müllerin, alongside Joseph Middleton. All purchased tickets remain valid.”

We wish Simon a very speedy recovery!

JUST ANNOUNCED!

The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden has just announced the 2017-18 opera season .

Simon will make his role debut as Tonio in Pagliacci on 29 November 2017. This performance is a Schools Matinee and will not be available for public booking. Simon will sing the role in a further seven performances on 2, 6 (matinee), 9, 12, 15, 19 and 22 December. Click here for details…

He will also sing Ford in Falstaff, with Bryn Terfel in the title role, in  2018. Performance dates are 7, 10, 13, 16, 19 and 21 July (matinee). Click here for more information…
