2012 Gramophone Award Best of Category Solo Vocal  for “Songs of War” (announced in September 2012)

2012 Fellowship of the Royal College of Music (FRCM)

2011 Winner of the Vocalist of the Year in the Musical America Awards 2011 (announced November 2010)

2008 Elected as an Honorary Fellow at St John’s College, Cambridge

2007 ECHO Klassik 2007 award Singer of the Year (male)

2007 Friends of Liceu Opera Award for Best Recital Artist

2007 Gramophone Award Best of Category (Recital) for Tales of Opera

2006 Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding achievement in Opera, for his work in the ROH production of 1984 and ENO’s Billy Budd in 2005.

2005 He recorded Le Nozze di Figaro with Rene Jacobs which won the Grammy award for best opera recording 2005 An honorary degree from RNCM (December 2005)

2004 Played Prospero in the Tempest which won the the Laurence Olivier Award for outstanding achievement in Opera

2004 Opera Award for the category Best Baritone (Don Giovanni, Théâtre de la Monnaie) from the Italian magazine L’Opera. (Source: L’Opera, December 2004)

1994-5 Singer of the Year Award from the Critics Circle and the Royal Philharmonic Society

1990 Winner of the Elly Ameling competition

1987 Winner of the Walter Gruner International Lieder competition

1986 Winner of the Richard Tauber prize for singers

1986 Frederic Cox Award for Singing. This was the first year that the competition was held.

Sir Simon Keenlyside

Simon Keenlyside was awarded the well deserved honour of a knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2018 and was knighted by HRH The Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace on Thursday 07 February 2019.

On Monday 19 June 2017 Simon was awarded the prestigious title of Austrian Kammersänger at a ceremony that took place in the Teesalon at the Vienna State Opera.
